ACOT MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION


ACOT, the Costa Rican Tour Operators Association , is a professional Association representing the Tour Operator industry. We are composed of companies whose packages and Tours are conducted mainly in Costa Rica.

ACOT was created since 1989, by a group of tour operators concerned about representing the interests of tour operators and with the main objective of exchanging experiences, propose solutions and face the daily problems that are presented in the field of tourism.

Among the benefits that you will find for your company are:

At the moment, we are working in several projects, such as:

- Creation of “The General Law for Tourism”
- Negotiation on topics of transportation, Bus Plates, Laws, etc.
- Problematic in the International Airport Juan Santamaría (Parking area for Tour Operators, services and other issues)
- Establishment of bonds with MOPT (Transportation issues) and other governmental offices
- Training Plans at several levels
- Services for Members
- Image and promotion
- Creation of the Web Site
- Implementation of the Code of Conduct for the Tourism Sector (Agreement with Acoprot - Paniamor and ACOT to carry out training Shops for tourism companies)
- Campaign Against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children – Posters and stickers to be distributed among tourism companies
- Programming of Forums, Chats and work shops on important topics for our members
- Collaboration to the companies in the application of the CST, Certification for Sustainable Tourism for Tour Operators, which will be implemented soon by the ICT ( Costa Rica Tourist Board)
- Negotiation with the INS ( National Insurance Company)
- Elaboration and distribution of the Pamphlet “Let`s Travel Safe” with the ICT in English and Spanish.
- Implementation of Quality Norms for Tour Operators

ACOT members number among the top names in incoming Travel and represent the entire spectrum of packages and tours available in our country.

Membership Requirements

To become a member of ACOT, a tour operator is required to have a total of 2 references from industry companies, as well as the following requirements:

1. Fill out the application form
2. A photocopy of the company good standing and representation document
3. Original Certification of the Company’s good standing and representation document
4. Profile of the company and tours your company offers
5. Certification of the Declaration as a Tourism company approved by the ICT
6. Two recommendations, one from a hotel and one from a Tour operator (ACOT member)

DUES

1. Affiliation dues: $30.00

Payment

Semestral dues $390.00
Annual dues $780.00
